According to data issued by the Information Center of National Settlement Depository (NSD), on 31 May 2020, the share of non-residents (calculated as a share of OFZ in foreign nominees’ accounts) demonstrated a slight increase as compared to April and reached 30.65% (based on the current nominal value) and 30.33% (based on the initial nominal value).
In May, there were fluctuations between 30.1% - 30.8% (when a share was calculated based on the current nominal value) and 29.78% - 30.48% (when a share was calculated based on the initial nominal value that reflects a change in participants’ positions excluding the nominal value’s depreciation/indexation). For comparison: on 31 December 2019, the share of non-residents based on the current nominal value was 31.50%, and based on the initial nominal value – 31.21%. In March 2020, this indicator amounted to 31.08% и 30.73%, and in April 2020 – 30.59% and 30.26% (based on the current and initial nominal values, respectively).
Meanwhile, on 31 May 2020, the share of OFZ in foreign nominees’ accounts and the accounts of fully foreign-owned financial institutions* equaled to 35.46% (based on the current nominal value).
In May 2020, there were significant changes in non-residents’ share in the following categories:
OFZ-PD 26229 maturing in November 2025 – the share reduced by 8.1 p.p. to 45.69%;
OFZ-PD 26230 maturing in March 2039 – the share reduced by 4.56 p.p. to 34.43%;
OFZ-PD 26228 maturing in April 2030 – the share reduced by 4.32 p.p. to 60.17%.
Non-residents increased their share in the new issue of OFZ-PD 25084 maturing in October 2023 (the share increased by 7.62 p.p. to 8.63% as of 29 May 2020), OFZ-PD 26232 (increased by 6.04 p.p. To 18.29%), and OFZ-PD 26225 (grew by 5.28 p.p. to 43.33%).
